Who is a candidate for anterior hip replacement?

Marilyn – back to hiking without pain after hip replacement

“I could no longer stand up straight or hike without being all bent over. Then I wasn’t able to bend over anymore and walking became painful. Sleep was constantly interrupted … My husband and I became afraid that I would end up in a wheelchair..”

Paul – no limitations after hip replacement

I have had 2 back surgeries and a partial knee replacement.  The hip replacement was by far the easiest to recover from.  I went to a family wedding 3 weeks after the surgery ( not dancing though) and was back to the jobsites after about 6 weeks.

David – Back to cycling 100s of miles a month

David is an active 60-year-old who lives on the peninsula.  He was having severe hip pain while riding his bike and walking – but following his hip replacement performed by Dr. Mast, he is now back to riding his bike for hundreds of miles a month.
